Cymatics — Visualizing Sound with Chladni Plates

May 2023

Built a custom Chladni plate apparatus from scratch to explore cymatics — the science of visualizing sound vibrations as geometric patterns. By driving a steel plate at specific frequencies with a speaker motor, sand self-organizes into striking geometric shapes called Chladni figures that shift and transform as the frequency changes. Presented at the Gateway College Preparatory School Science Fair 2023, earning 1st Place in the Middle School Division.

Firefly Alpha FLT001 'Dream' — Live Rocket Launch

Sep 2021

Attended the live launch of Firefly Aerospace's Alpha rocket (FLT001 'Dream') at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California — one of the most memorable early experiences fueling a passion for aerospace. Got an up-close view from just outside the launch complex thanks to her dad, who worked at Firefly Aerospace at the time. Witnessed the rocket lift off firsthand, and even got to hold a recovered piece of the rocket's heat shield afterward.
